The first batch of devices to receive the MIUI stable update included the Xiaomi Mi 9, Redmi K20 Pro/ Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20/ Mi 9T. Xiaomi’s first phase of MIUI 12 rollout is complete, as many more devices have been added since the initial rollout.

System visuals

Super wallpapers
Super wallpapers break phisical boundaries and keep inspiring you with every touch. With two Super wallpapers which has cool animations and transitions when opening the phone and locking the phone.
Privacy protection
MIUI 12 is the first Android-based mobile OS that went through the rigorous enhanced privacy protection testing. You can use secure sharing to control what additional data is sent along shared items.
Floating windows
Pull down a notification sent by a messenger app to turn into a floating window. Floating windows keep apps running in the foreground even when you pause to do other things. You can minimize a floating window using a full screen gesture. Press and hold an app preview in Recents to choose between Split screen and floating windows.
Control center
A big new feature that can be enabled by swiping down from the upper right corner of your screen. This opens the cool new Control center which look like IOS control center, but feels more better. Also with some animated icons which are a joy to look at!
Dark mode
Dark mode support is also provided for third-party apps now. Contrast is lowered automatically in low light conditions to protect your eyes. Wallpapers can be displayed in darker palette when your device switches to Dark mode.
Casting
You can hide private items while casting and minimize the window to multitask.
Always-on display
Lock screen items were shown on the Always-on display.
Lock screen
Lock screen and Always-on display issues in second space has been removed. Fixed fingerprint unlock issues on Always-on display. Now the face unlock feel more faster than before.
Camera
New Pro mode features and descriptions, Vlog feature for videos, Optimization for pro mode parameter naming.
Weather
New animations bring the weather from outside directly to your screen.
Settings
Lite mode simplifies your device and brings essential features up front.
Notes
The notes app totally feels new and you can create folders with notes now. New dynamic backgrounds look great. Tasks are completed with a satisfying animations now. Checklists of sub-tasks make managing your agenda much simpler.
